Funerals in the Philippines

Just got home from a funeral.

<+>

Funerals in the Philippines are very different.

I know. I know.

It is supposed to be sad and solemn.

But here!

It’s full of <<<FUN>>>

There are games.

There are Karaokes.

Laughter.

Smiles.

^+^

I once, asked why do they allow laughter in funerals – - -

the reply is – - -

“YOU GO TO FUNERALS TO SHOW YOUR SYMPATHY, AND WE ARE SUPPOSEDLY THERE TO MAKE THEM HAPPY, AND HELP THEM TAKE THEIR LOSS WITH EASE AND LESSEN THE PAIN BY PUTTING LAUGHTER AND SMILES IN THEIR FACES.”

)+(

Can you tell me how funerals are

in your places?
